Every year 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas in India. Hindi was declared the national language of India on September 14, 1949. The main objective of this day is to develop and spread the Hindi language. In line with Hindi Diwas, essay competitions, kavi sammelans, debate competitions, plays, cultural conferences, seminars, etc. are organized in different parts of the country every year. The day also commemorates eminent writers who have made invaluable contributions to Hindi literature. The future of Hindi language in the changing environment was also discussed on this day.
