11 July
World Population Day
Every year, 11 July is celebrated as World Population Day. On July 11, 1987, the Earth’s population reached an estimated 5 billion. Since 1989, the Executive Council of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has decided to celebrate 11 July as World Population Day. The day focuses on various issues related to population. These include birth control, public health, universal efforts to provide a livable environment for future generations, etc. The increase in average life expectancy has been one of the most important aspects of the past two centuries. From 1800 to 2005, the average life expectancy increased from 30 years to 67 years. Nowadays, people are focusing on birth control but it is universal In form, it has not yet been implemented. The world’s population explosion cannot be prevented unless birth control is implemented along with increasing the average life expectancy of people. In October 2011, the world’s population exceeded 7 billion. According to the data, the world’s population is increasing by 200,000 every day; If this rate continues, the world’s population will reach 10 billion by the end of this century.
