International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is celebrated all over the world on March 8. Women’s rights, struggles and aspects of success have been particularly discussed on this day. In particular, the issue of equal status for women with men by removing gender inequality has been getting more attention. On the day of Women’s Day, women’s rights are highlighted through various meetings, processions, seminars, etc. There is also a tradition of honouring successful women from various fields on this day. In some countries, including Russia, March 8 has been declared a national holiday. It is not clear from when women’s day was celebrated, although this tradition has been continuing for about a hundred years. However, Women’s Day was celebrated on different days at different times. After The First World War, Women’s Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of February in Russia. In 1914, women’s day is said to have been celebrated in Europe on March 8 against the war and with compassion for the women’s society all over the world. Since then, International Women’s Day has been celebrated on March 8. Over a period of time, this day became more organized and March 8 has been marked as a very significant day all over the world.
