According to Christianity, Pope is the representative of the God of the world. Even Cardinal, Arch-Bishops and priests considered themselves officers of the same level. So they were responsible for their work. They emphasized regional and local interests, but did not pay attention to the national interest. The Renaissance resulted in people educated. The narrowness and ignorance was removed from the human mind. The ideas of patriotism and nationalism developed. There was a strong sense of commitment and faith in the state. In such circumstances, people did not like the interference of the priests in politics. They believed that the main obstacle to spiritual development was corrupt life and religious narrowness. So everyone wanted to get rid of the pope.
