Chandigarh has 2 satellite cities – Panchkula and Mohali. The three cities are collectively known as Chandigarh Tri-City. The brainchild of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the city was one of the five planned cities of India, the others being New Delhi, Bhubaneswar (Orissa), Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra).
