Chengmara / Chengamu English Name: Spiny arum, Scientific Name: Lasia spinosa

Nature: Chengmara or Sengamu grows on its own in the dheap and erabari of Bari. It can be seen in the jackal area near the river. It is a wild plant like a turtle with small thorns in the pit. It is found in the southern regions of Assam.

Quality: Tender leaves cure diarrheal diseases. Chewing a piece of its core removes indigestion and hunger. It affects our well-being in many ways such as good skin, eyesight growth, keeping nerves strong, increasing blood cells, preventing heart disease, muscle cramps, removing constipation, strengthening the body, strengthening bones etc. This vegetable is beneficial in Arsh disease. It is beneficial to feed a woman.

Cuisine: Its tender leaves and leaves are very tasty to cook and eat as vegetables.
