World Blood Donor Day
Every year, June 14 is celebrated as World Blood Donor Day. Encouragement of voluntary blood donation and appreciation of blood donors Publication is the main purpose of this day. World Health Organization (WHO) declared June 14 as World Blood Donor Day to mark the birthday of Nobel Prize-winning scientist Karl Landsteiner, the discoverer of the ABO group of blood. The World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates this day every year in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies, the International Society of Blood Transfusions and the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations. Various programs are undertaken to raise awareness about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and the need for safe blood. Every year, a central theme is determined for World Blood Donor Day; In 2012, the theme was that every blood donor is a hero.
